We will partner with ECCO in a "Pop-Up" Farmer's Market on May 21st at the Cainhoy Elementary School

ECCO will be supplying fresh produce while RCDI has agreed to provide complementary non-perishable goods.

Social distancing will be practiced and goods will be placed in the trunk of the Cainhoy-resident car.

To support the project, we are asking 25 Rotarians to provide 2 "complete" bags of non-perishable goods of value approximately $25 (50 bags total).  The list below provides some details of the kinds of foods that you might consider. At the same time, we understand that there may be some constraints on products available in your supermarket, or your may find items that are on sale, so substitutions are perfectly fine.

Bags may be dropped off on the back porch of Holy Cross Church prior to Tuesday May 19th please.

Your expenses are reimbursable so please send receipts to Maureen Cannon (macann4@gmail.com) or text picture of receipt to 423 967 5617. This will also help us keep track of the number of bags that we have collected and how far we need to go. Please do this even if you do not wish to be reimbursed.

On May 20th (Wednesday), we'd like to ask for 4-8 volunteers to meet to pickup and organize supplies. 10:00 AM at Publix or 10:30 at Jonathan's (Holy Cross) after the Rotary Meeting

On May 21st (Thursday), we will have need for a few (~6) volunteers at Cainhoy Elementary 9:00 AM for set-up with the drive starting at 10:00 AM. For safety, bags will be placed in the trunks of cars. Please bring masks.

This is a great way to help those who face food insecurity even in "normal" times. We appreciate your participation!

 Where to Drop Food

If people come around the back of Orlando's pizza, and past the back of the new building at 297 Seven Farms, they can then park right by the back of the church where there is a sign saying Rotary Food Drive and pointing at the back porch. On the porch they will find another sign telling them where to leave their bags.
